SPEED7 CPUs Known features from the 300S Series are included in SLIO CPUs. Therefore, memory management with flexible memory adaptation via Memory Configuration Card (MCC), known from SPEED7 CPUs of the 300 series, is again present in SLIO CPUs, but has been updated. VSC (VIPASetCard) now allows two hardware variants to produce a total of 24 CPU variants. Even in its basic configuration, without the optional VSC, both hardware variants already provide a lot of memory, most of the common applications can run right away. With the help of VSC, memory can be expanded and PROFIBUS communication enabled on both base CPUs. Only the SD card must be inserted in the CPU of the selected hardware variant. Additional features are then immediately available with the first transaction. VSC can also be used like any other standard SD card for storing programs and data. Programming is carried out in the SIMATIC world, familiar to most users, ie concretely with STEP 7 or Siemens' TIA Portal.
